Student Code of Conduct & Terms

Last updated: 14 July 2026

tandem is for finding study groups, teams, and classmates. Using it means you agree to the rules below.

Be a real student

Sign up with your own university email, use a name classmates will recognise, and don't impersonate anyone.

Be decent

No harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, sexual content, or spam — in posts or in group chats. There is zero tolerance for abusive content or behaviour: reported content is reviewed and removed, and accounts that break these rules are banned.

Keep it honest

Study together, share notes, split research — great. Don't use tandem to arrange plagiarism, contract cheating, or sharing answers for assessed work where your university prohibits it. Your university's academic integrity policy always applies.

Your content

You own what you post and are responsible for it. You give tandem permission to display it to other verified students. You can delete your posts, leave groups, block users, and delete your account (with all its data) at any time.

The service

tandem is an independent student project, not affiliated with or endorsed by any university. It's provided "as is", free features may change, and access may be suspended for rule-breaking. See the privacy policy for how your data is handled.
